2020 Summer Season-Covid-19 Safety Protocols

Mission:

MBYSA promotes the idea of growth in youth athletic skills at all levels, good sportsmanship, honesty, respect, loyalty, and a sense of teamwork through a positive, competitive environment, so that our youth may become strong, healthy, well-adjusted members of the community. Everything we do is about our kiddos in this great community.

Practice Protocol:
  Practicing will resume Monday, June 1, 2020.
  Drinking fountains and concessions will remain closed.
  Playgrounds will remain closed.
  Use  the  restrooms  at  your  own  risk.  The  city  has  responsibility  for  cleaning  and
maintaining these facilities. Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing will be done daily.
  Parents are responsible for monitoring their children, in the event they are exhibiting any
symptoms consistent with COVID-19, such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated 
shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell, they should 
not come to practice until such time as the player been cleared by a doctor or is symptom free for 
at least 24 hours as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). If you are sick PLEASE 
STAY HOME!
  Limit 1 parent or guardian at each practice. Siblings are not allowed on the field or in the
dugout.
  Social distancing guidelines set by the CDC must be implemented at all times, meaning
additional spacing will be required while in the dugouts and/or field.
  Masks are not required but will be permitted in the event the parent wants their child to
wear one.
  Players  should  not  share  gear  and/or  equipment  such  as  bats  and  helmets.     If
gear/equipment must be shared it must be sanitized between each use.
  No team coolers will be allowed, players should have their own water.  Label the water
bottles to avoid sharing.
  No sunflower seeds or gum will be allowed in the dugouts or field of play.
  No handshakes or high fives

Game Protocol:
 Games will resume Monday June 15, 2020.
 Concessions will be open with pre-packaged food and drinks only (drinks, chip, candy,
etc.), please practice social distancing while in line.
 Hand sanitizer and/or sanitizing wipes will be located in each dugout.
 Umpires and on duty board members will have temperature checks at the concession
stand prior to taking the fields each night.
 Playgrounds will remain closed.

 The City will spray each dugout with sanitation spray prior to the first game and the on
duty board members will wipe each dugout and scoreboard controllers between games.
 Players should not share gear and/or equipment such as bats and helmets. If
gear/equipment must be shared it must be sanitized between each use.
 No team coolers will be allowed, players should have their own water. Label the water

 No post game handshakes or high fives
 Line ups between umpires and coaches should be done electronically if possible, if a
meeting is held at home plate each coach is to stand on the outside of their batter’s box
with the umpires standing at the top/bottom of the batter’s box. No handshakes prior
to play.
 Parents/spectators should maintain safe social distancing while in the stands or lined
around the backstop fencing. Six foot identifying marks will be in the stands and along
the fence lines to aid with spacing.
 No parents/siblings/spectators are allowed in the dugout unless you have approval by
the Head Coach
