COVID-19 Prevention Protocols

The Mont Belvieu Youth Softball Association will follow the recommended CDC considerations for ways
in which board members, players, parents and others can reduce the risk of spreading COVID – 19.

Promoting Behaviors that Reduce Spread
• Staying Home when Appropriate
o No worker showing symptoms or has recently had close contact with a person with
COVID – 19 will be allowed to work in the concession stand.
o Workers should stay home if they have tested positive for or are showing COVID 19
symptoms.
o Anyone who has tested positive or was in close contact with a person with COVID – 19
will not be allowed in the concession stand for 14 days from their positive result or from
the day they were in contact with person that tested positive.

• Temperature Checks
o All persons assigned to work in the concession stand will have their temperature
checked prior to their shift beginning.
o Any person with a temperature of 100.4 degrees (Celsius) will not be allowed to work in
the concession stand for that shift.

• Masks
o CDC recommends masks to be worn to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread. Masks must
always be worn by all workers while working in the concession stand. No exceptions.
o Customers must wear masks while ordering food.
• Hand Hygiene
o MBYSA will require workers to frequently wash their hands with soap and water for at
least 20 seconds. (e.g. before, during, and after preparing food; after touching garbage)
o Gloves must always be worn by workers.
o Workers must change gloves out after they have completed these activities
 Removing garbage bags or handling and disposing of trash.
 Handling used or dirty food service items.
 Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.
o Workers will avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth with gloved or unwashed
hands.
• Adequate Supplies
o MBYSA will ensure adequate supplies to support healthy hygiene are available for
regular cleaning. Supplies include antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer containing at least
60% alcohol placed at every window and disinfecting wipes for surface cleaning.

Maintaining Healthy Environments
• Cleaning and Disinfection
o A worker will be assigned to clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g., cash
register, order countertop, pick up counter tops, sink handles) at least every 30 minutes
or as much as possible. Time and persons cleaning of such areas will be documented for
recording keeping purposes (i.e. checklist).

o When cleaning and disinfecting, wear gloves appropriate for the disinfectant being used.
Additional personal protective equipment may also be required.

• Modified Layouts and Procedures
o MBYSA will change the layout of ordering and picking up orders to ensure that all
customers remain at least 6 feet apart.
o There will be no self-serve foods options such as ketchup, mayo and mustard bottles.
o Only assigned workers will hand out napkins, utensils, orders and condiments.
• Physical Barriers and Guides
o MBYSA will provide physical guides, such as tape on floors or sidewalks and signage, to
ensure that individuals remain at least 6 feet apart.

• Communal Spaces
o No more than 8 workers will be allowed inside the concession stand at a time. Social
distancing of at least 6 feet must always be maintained.

Operations
• Placing & Picking Up an Order
o Orders will be placed at the window closest to the Baseball fields ONLY.
o Cashier will take the order, collect the cash or CC payment.
o Customer will move down to 1 of the 2 pickup windows to receive their order.
o Worker from either pick up window 1 or 2 will collect their purchases and place the
order on the counter for the customer to pick up.

• Food Handling
o 2 workers will be allowed to do the cooking
o 1-2 workers will be allowed at pick up windows to receive the food from the cooks and
place it on the counter for the customer to pick up.
o Workers at windows will also hand out napkins, single packaged condiments and
wrapped cutlery kits.

NOTE: No sunflower seeds will be sold due to the constant spitting of the shells.
